The Institute will be providing research-based support, advocacy, expert consultancy and tailor-made technical support to governments, inter-governmental agencies/organisations, of Africa and the civil society. We are a group with the profession to read, write, research and discuss topics that are of importance to the social good.

Our Programs

Centre for Human Security Analysis & Policy (CHSAP)

CHSAP's mission is to advance research, policy development and stakeholder engagement on human security challenges, focusing on the interconnected dimensions of safety, rights, and dimensions.

CHSAP Core Pillars:

Research: Evidence-based analysis of threats (conflict, climate, pandemics, inequality.

Advocacy: Promoting human security in global/regional agendas and platforms.

Capacity Building: Training for policy makers and civil society.

ADFI's mission is to advance evidence-based policy solutions for sustainable development in Africa, by addressing structural challenges in governance, economic diversification, human capital, and climate resilience.

Economic Transformation, with emphasis on (job creation, digitalisation, trade integration, etc.

Human Development focusing on health, education, gender equality, etc.

Governance & Institutions, addressing issues such as anti-corruption, public service delivery, etc.

Africa Geopolitical Futures Observatory (AGFO)

AGFO's mission is to analyse and forecast power shifting, conflict drivers, and foreign influence in Africa to inform evidence-based policy, sovereign decision making, and regional stability.

AGFO Thematic Focus Areas

Great power competition (US, China, Russia, EU).

Conflict ecosystems (coups, jihadism, resource wars).

Regional bloc dynamics (AU, EAC, ECCAS, ECOWAS, SADC)

Our Approach

Our approach is based on engagement in robust national sovereignty and independence by insisting on African agency in interaction with the international community; Production of a range of research-based products; Provision of practical training and technical assistance on Security Sector Reform; and tailormade assistance and capacity building strategies; Hosting of conferences and seminars to institutionalise an annual flagship Africa Security Conference.

Our Office

AGSI is currently without an office, since it is a newly established entity. The existing team has been and is still working from home with own sacrificing own resources just to get the organisation legally registered, and to ensure its online presence.
